Democracy and Human Rights Memorial Hall

‘The Republic of Korea shall be a democratic republic.’ is Article 1, Paragraph 1 of the Constitution of the Republic of Korea. In celebration of the 100th anniversary of the March 1st Movement and the establishment of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea, the ‘Democracy, Human Rights and Peace Expo’ will be held to examine the footsteps of democracy in Korea, and to envision a new future.

This exhibition, supervised by Ahn Sang-soo and designed by AhnGraphics, consists of five sections: ‘Democracy Preface Hall’ , ‘Independence Movement Hall’ , ‘Anti-Dictatorial Fighting Hall, ‘100 Years of Labor Hall’, and ‘Citizens Hall’. Through various combinations of photos, infographics, and digital media, it will show the flow of democratization of the Republic of Korea, which has been led by the people for the past 100 years from 1919 to 2019.

‘대한민국은 민주공화국이다.’는 대한민국의 헌법 제 1조 1항으로, 현 대한민국 정부의 전신인 대한민국 임시정부 임시 헌장에서 시작된 문구이다. 3·1운동과 대한민국임시정부 수립 100주년을 맞이하며 독립운동 정신을 계승한 대한민국 민주주의의 발자취를 살펴보고, 새로운 미래를 구상하기 위한 ‘민주·인권·평화 박람회’가 2019년에 열렸다.

총감독 안상수 디자이너를 중심으로 안그라픽스가 디자인을 맡은 이 전시는, ‘민주주의 머리말관’, ‘독립운동관’, ‘반독재투쟁관’, ‘노동100년관’, ‘시민관’ 등 총 5개의 섹션으로 구성되었으며, 1919년부터 2019년까지 100년 간 국민이 이끌어 온 대한민국 민주화의 흐름을 사진, 인포그래픽, 디지털 매체 등의 다양한 조합을 통해 보여주었다.
